Since your fever still persists and it has been 3 days, mummy discussed with baba and told baba that it is best to bring you to take the blood test as advised by the doctor. Mummy told baba to apply 1 day leave so that we can bring you to go for the blood test together.
We reached Yishun Polyclinic at about 9am and was directed to the consultation directly due to your high fever. Due to your poor fluid intake, i.e. Only 300ml was consumed yesterday, the doctor issued a referral letter and wanted baba mama to admit you to hospital directly to avoid dehydration. Mummy asked all the detailed Qs like what kind of tests or treatment will you receive if we admit you to hospital. The doctor explained that the hospital will put you on drip and also do a blood test. Mummy was very skeptical to admit you to hospital if possible as it will be very tough for you and you could develop the phobia since the nurse will inject the long needle into your hand and put you on drip. Mummy told the doctor that we will remain at Polyclinic to do the blood test instead and I will try to 'force' you to drink with a syringe to prevent you to me dehydrated.
We waited for very long before reached your turn to have a blood test. You screamed loudly when the doctor poke you on the finger and started to squeeze the blood into a test tube. Anyway, mummy was sad to see you went through this but felt so proud of you as you tried to stay calm and didn't struggle a lot. Thanks for being a good girl for mummy.
The blood test result was out after an hour and it shows you are having viral infection instead of dengue fever. It is a bless though. Then the doctor prescribe some oral rehydration salt to you and tge pharmacist told mummy to feed you a spoonful every 15 minutes.
Mummy thought you will drink more if we bring you to school as you have friends there and it will be more like peer influence to make you drink more but teachers rejected to let you in due to the ulcers in your throat. Baba mama brought you home to rest instead.
Mummy started to 'force' you to swallow the water with syringe and take note of your water intake. You may see mummy as a scary person to do that to you but mummy rather to do that so that it won't cause the dehydration to you due to poor fluid intake. Mummy knew you will understand that as well:)
Your fluid intake seemed to have improved slightly but you still showed the pain whenever you drink. Mummy brought you to a open-spaced garden and had a walk but unfortunately you fell down and injured your knee while chasing a dried leaf hehe. Luckily nothing too serious! After that, mummy told baba to bring you to a clinic nearby and consult another doctor for second advice. Initially we thought whether the doctor could issue a letter to allow you to go back to school but the doctor rejected and prescribed a bottle of antibiotic to you so that it will kill the bacteria that caused the ulces in your throat more efficiently.
At night, we had a video call with 阿公阿婆. Both 阿公阿婆 are very worried you and wanted to take a bus from Malaysia to our house to take care of you on Thursday as 阿公need to repair the sewing machine tomorrow. 阿公阿婆万岁!恩, you must appreciate all the loves given by 阿公阿婆 and 感恩 :) it is difficult and very tiring journey for them to take the public bus from Malaysia to Singapore with their age. 惜福!
