Today is 除夕. We needed to go to 阿公阿婆家 for reunion lunch and 爷爷奶奶家 for reunion dinner as usual.
In the morning, it was difficult to wake baba up again and baba vent a little frustration as usual but at least we managed to departed from home at about 8.30am.
We arrived at 阿公阿婆家 at about 10.10am. Usually we will be there earlier than any other 阿姨 as we need to leave 阿公阿婆家 at about 3pm and back to Singapore.
Baba asked 阿B gor gor to accompany him to go for a carwash and mummy stayed at home to help out in kitchen. 阿公brought you out for a ride on motorcycle in very slow speed while waiting for other 阿姨 to be back to 阿公阿婆家.
4姨、2姨、3姨 and 大姨 all came back to 阿公阿婆家 at about 11 plus and we started to prepare for reunion lunch dishes. Mummy cooked 芥兰带子, 大姨prepared 芋头扣肉, 二姨prepared虾仁芥兰, 3姨prepared a pot of yummy soup, 4姨prepared vinegar pork knuckles and 阿婆 prepared a pot of herbal pig belly soup. Our sumptuous reunion lunch was ready and everyone happily had the lunch together.
After lunch, it was already about 2 plus, we needed to rush back to Singapore at about 3pm but it was drizzling so we stayed a 15 minutes more.
The traffic was very very smooth, we reached Singapore within 1 hour. We went back home to have a rest and a bath then headed to 爷爷奶奶家 for reunion dinner.
After the dinner, we stayed in 爷爷奶奶家 till about 10pm and came back home to prepare to worship to 娘娘. In the past, mummy should enjoy the happening CNY ambience in 阿公阿婆家 with fireworks during CNY eve and to mummy the quiet CNY ambience in Singapore is still very strange to mummy. Although baba once promised mummy after 2nd year of marriage, he would bring mummy back to 阿公阿婆家 to celebrate the eve after the dinner together with other 阿姨, 4years had passed and the promise also seemed to have gone. Anyway, luckily you are here with mummy and mummy feels not ao lonely here haha
Every year during the Chinese New Year, baba would vent his anger as he felt that he spent too much time with us at 阿公阿婆家 and he did the same again. Though same thing happens almost every year, mummy has to keep him calmed down so that everyone would have a happy new year. After 11pm, it was considered 初一 we worshipped to 娘娘 and mummy gave both you and baba an ang pao to wish you all good luck. Let's have a prosperous year ahead and peaceful year!
